There are three superstars on WWE Raw reportedly planned for pushes in early 2020, and Vince McMahon is behind each of them.

It’s the time of year where wrestlers pick up momentum heading into the new year and Royal Rumble season, which begins the build to WrestleMania. The WWE Rumor mill is churning out lists of names of superstars who are primed for pushes in 2020, and it appears Paul Heyman is high on several fan favorites.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via WrestleTalk’s Brian Joyce, Drew McIntyre, Aleister Black, and Erick Rowan are poised to receive pushes soon.

We’ve already heard plenty about how high Heyman is on Black, so he’s a lock to receive major push soon.

Wrestling fans have been waiting for McIntyre to receive a real push for quite some time, as he’s been tabbed as world championship material since joining the main roster after WrestleMania 34. McIntyre hasn’t won that world title yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he had a breakthrough moment. He just needs to connect better with the crowd, which is something Black has done a much better job of in 2019. Black’s match with Buddy Murphy at TLC was a show-stealer far surpassing anything McIntyre has done in singles competition on Raw.

Erick Rowan is definitely the surprise of the list. Fans are still wondering what’s in the cage, and recent interactions on Raw seem to hint at it being an animal…or something far more bizarre and creepy. Rowan, as his infamous Talking Smack promo with the balloon showed, is willing to push the boundaries of weirdness to make things work.

Meltzer says that these are “big pushes” and that Vince McMahon is particularly interested in pushing Rowan “heavily”. Considering Rowan is the most surprising name on that list of three, that has to be a huge feather in his cap.

But Rowan is an underrated character worker who did a great job in his storylines with Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Leaving the Wyatt Family and aimless Bludgeon Brothers has helped Rowan, and a real push in the mid-card as a singles competitor could do him well.
