3.) NXT Won Survivor Series

NXT, the rookie brand that is well known for its comprehensive storytelling and exceptional in-ring performances, won their first Survivor Series against the main roster brands of Raw and SmackDown. This brand had a huge chip on its shoulder, and it showed why it should not be overlooked by any means.

From a business standpoint, WWE made the right decision by having NXT win Survivor Series because it needed to compete with AEW on Wednesday nights. Besides, why include NXT in Survivor Series for the first time if they are not going to win?

From a storyline standpoint, NXT needed to be viewed on the same level as Raw and SmackDown in order to be taken seriously by the WWE Universe and be considered the ‘main roster.’

The most ideal way to break down the barrier of Raw and SmackDown hogging of the spotlight for so many years was to book NXT to win this year’s brand war at Survivor Series, and the WWE was smart for doing just that.

2.) Becky Lynch Became Becky 2 Belts at WrestleMania 35

Becky Lynch, one of the most prestigious Raw Women’s Champions in WWE history, accomplished an incredible feat in the main event of WrestleMania 35. She defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the same night to become Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Her “The Man” gimmick broke down gender barriers and her victory in the main event of WrestleMania epitomized the women’s revolution. However, she did not stop there because she defeated the likes of Lacey Evans, Natalya, and Sasha Banks.

Although she has more debts to collect, her championship matches stole the show on many of the PPVs throughout the year. Like Bayley, she carries herself as a worthy champion and it was a smart booking decision to run with her as the face of the WWE even to this day.
