Becky Lynch is gearing up at the right time for WWE. Lynch has held the RAW Women’s Championship since she defeated Ronda Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Her reign has been filled with highs and lows. Feuds with Shayna Baszler and Sasha Banks have demonstrated how she made The Man into the hottest character in WWE.

Last year at the Royal Rumble, Asuka – then SmackDown Women’s Champion – defeated Lynch via submission to retain her championship. The match was an emotional ride for fans in the building and those who watched at home via the WWE Network.

Both women have a special chemistry with each other when they step through the ropes. WWE has struck gold by keeping Asuka and Lynch apart from each other for a year. Their rematch at the 2020 Royal Rumble is the most interesting story heading into a massive card.

For storyline purposes, Asuka is the one wrestler that has Lynch’s number. It adds credibility to Asuka, who certainly needs to look stronger as a singles wrestler. The story has also strengthened Lynch as a fan favorite who has to gain revenge over her toughest rival.

After the Royal Rumble, their story could spiral off into different directions. Here are three reasons why The Man should win at the Royal Rumble.

Lynch should escape at the Royal Rumble, but defeat Asuka at WrestleMania 36

WWE saves their biggest moments for their biggest stage. That stage is and always will be, WrestleMania.  Lynch and Asuka have a rivalry that fans are emotionally invested in. This story shouldn’t end at the Royal Rumble, it should get stronger.

The fact that Asuka made Lynch tap out in the middle of the ring at the 2019 Royal Rumble has been one of the biggest driving forces in this match. In storyline, Asuka has been a thorn in the side of Lynch. Lynch has deleted everyone that she has stepped in the ring with her, except Asuka.

Their match at the Royal Rumble doesn’t need to have a clear winner. This is where WWE can add the next chapter to the story between The Man and The Empress of Tomorrow. Their match can end in a double pinfall or a double countout/knockout. This means their rematch, which could take place at WrestleMania 36, must have a winner.

This finish only adds to the moment at WrestleMania 36 where Lynch does end up defeating Asuka in the middle of the ring. Before we get to WrestleMania, Asuka can taunt Lynch by stating that she made Lynch tap out and she knocked Lynch out.

There is more meat on the bone of this feud. Ending it at the Royal Rumble would be a major disappointment.
