WWE: Ranking the 10 very best feuds of the 2010’s
With the 2010’s coming to an end, let’s look at some of the best feuds that WWE was able to offer during the course of this decade.
But first, briefly, let’s go over some honorable mentions for WWE feuds that just barely missed the cut …
Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns – Between Braun Strowman flipping ambulances and Roman Reigns attempting to murder him with an ambulance, this feud was just goofy fun. Not to mention some fun matches as well.
AJ Styles vs. John Cena – A dream feud that no one expected to happen managed to not only produce classic matches, but helped elevate AJ Styles as a staple of the WWE’s main event picture.
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks – While they’ve mostly spend the decade as a tag team and WWE never went all in for a main roster feud apart from mild teasing, the impact of their NXT feud for the grander Women’s Revolution cannot be denied.
The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family – While this was the feud that got me back into wrestling, it was just a little too short compared to the Top 10.
The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels/Triple H – The whole Brothers of Destruction vs. DX in Saudi Arabia thing was wack, but the singles feuds that gave us three classic Mania matches this decade at Manias 26, 27 and 28 were amazing, as was the storylines that accompanied each match.
10. The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan
This is the only feud on this list that pretty much lasted the entirety of the decade, beginning in 2010 when Daniel Bryan served as The Miz’s “rookie” in NXT, all the way up to the main event of the final SmackDown of 2019. It’s been interesting to watch these two grow and improve as their feud continued to evolve over the years.
We saw an American Dragon fresh out of the independent scene as he collided with a a homegrown Superstar defined by WWE’s “sports entertainment” mantra. We saw the A-Lister deliver a fiery Talking Smack promo two years before Bryan came out of retirement. More recently, we saw two more aggressive “changed” men duke it out on the last SmackDown main event of the decade.
These two men – in 2010 and even now – could not be more different, and yet, their differences have always made for inseparable chemistry, memorable matches and unforgettable moments throughout the entire decade.
9. Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey
This one would have been much higher, if not for the fact this is still a relatively new feud beginning in late October and only culminating at WrestleMania. The build between these two was hot from the moment that they first locked eyes at Evolution and excitement towards their Survivor Series match continued to build in the weeks leading up.
Unfortunately, that Survivor Series match never came to fruition, but Lynch and Rousey kept their heat hot over social media, where some of the best moments of their rivalry (even during the Mania build) happened. It helped to keep their feud hot just long enough to justify putting them in the main event of WrestleMania 35, a first ever for WWE’s women’s division.
Even now, while we have yet to see a one-on-one match between these two, fans are walking into WrestleMania 36 hoping to finally see it there. We’ll see what happens at the Rumble in a few weeks, but if not, this still turned out to be one of the most exciting women’s feuds in recent memory.
