Lacey Evans vs. Sasha Banks

For just over a month now, Lacey Evans and Sasha Banks have been interlocked in a feud that continues to intensify, reaching its zenith right before the new year after The Boss taunted the Sassy Southern Belle’s daughter. Which, as you’d imagine, said Belle did not like that. Not. One. Bit.

A week later, Banks (with Bayley by her side) tapped out Evans’ buddy Dana Brooke, but a week after that on the first SmackDown of the new year, Evans knocked out Banks, allowing Brooke to get her win back with a Swanton Bomb during a Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Now, Banks and Evans finally look to settle things one-on-one.

Except, they won’t settle anything tonight. At least, it seems unlikely. Sure, Evans could easily win tonight’s match to gain momentum steering into a potential title match against Banks’ bestie, Bayley, but a babyface Evans has already proven to be immensely over with audiences. A win won’t help or hurt her case with the crowd so it’s not totally necessary.

I can’t imagine Banks pulling off a win tonight, but a week after she’s already taken a loss and weeks upon weeks of Evans getting the upper hand on Banks, I can’t see Banks losing. At least, it wouldn’t be smart at this stage of the game. WWE want (or at least they should want) Banks to still look like a valuable commodity. She needs to look like Bayley’s equal, rather than her sidekick, and another loss isn’t a good look.

So I imagine just before Evans sets up for a Woman’s Right, Bayley runs in for an attack and the former Boss ‘n’ Hug throw some rights in Evans’ direction. The babyface has gotten the upperhand enough times in this feud that it’s time for the heels to finally do the same.

Prediction: Lacey Evans wins by DQ, but gets beat down by Bayley and Banks.
