Women’s Royal Rumble

Originally, it seemed that betting favorites Shayna Baszler and/or Ronda Rousey had a shot at winning the third annual Women’s Royal Rumble. However, there are hidden reasons why they may longer have that shot.

For Baszler’s case, she got eliminated by Shotzi Blackheart in the NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Battle Royal so she lost momentum for winning the Royal Rumble. Although it seemed that a Lynch-Baszler rivalry was being teased after their post-match attack at WWE Survivor Series 2019, maybe Vince McMahon’s disappointment with her triple threat main event match at that PPV is finally speaking volumes in her booking.

For Rousey’s case, she is too busy being She-Hulk on Disney Plus. Henceforth, she probably won’t return to the WWE to challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship just yet and something else might be planned for The Man.

Charlotte Flair could also be argued as a potential candidate to win the Women’s Royal Rumble since she was the original plan to win last year and face Rousey at WrestleMania 35. However, it would not be in popular demand to see her battle either Lynch or Bayley for the 165th time.

Meanwhile, Sasha Banks is the dark horse. She made a huge return to the WWE with a fresh heel turn but never truly obtained the momentum she deserved. Unlike Charlotte Flair, it would be in popular demand to see her battle either Lynch or Bayley at WrestleMania 36 since Lynch was her main rival when she returned and Bayley is her best friend. Besides, it’s her birthday this Sunday. Give Sasha Banks a chance.

Men’s Royal Rumble

Originally, it seemed that betting favorites Kevin Owens and/or Drew McIntyre had a shot at winning the Men’s Royal Rumble, but their go-home show angles on Raw were too weak to even get anyone excited about them winning the Rumble. There are also some non-branded betting favorites/surprise returns, like CM Punk and Edge, who are just way too outlandish of Royal Rumble picks thanks to lack of build up and an excessive amount of time away from the WWE.

Considering that there is a rumored Saudi Arabian PPV in February, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is very likely in this match to set up a championship match for that PPV rather than for WrestleMania 36. Henceforth, it is very likely that the superstar who eliminates Lesnar will battle him at that Saudi Arabian PPV, and Cain Velasquez would be that superstar if WWE is aiming for a Saudi Arabian Crown Jewel championship rematch.

If his championship match will be in Saudi Arabia, it is likely he will eliminate Lesnar but unlikely that he will win the entire Royal Rumble since the whole point of the Rumble is to get a championship opportunity at WrestleMania 36. With Lesnar and Velasquez potentially occupied, that must mean that the winner of this match will undoubtedly choose Universal Champion Bray Wyatt as his opponent at WrestleMania 36.

Henceforth, Roman Reigns, the #1 draft pick to Friday Night SmackDown and the sole survivor for Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, is legitimately the only betting favorite left who would be a sensible victor for this match. He should be Bray Wyatt’s ultimate opponent at WrestleMania 36 because he needs to win back the Universal Championship he never lost after his long and arduous fight against leukemia in 2018.
