WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 early card predictions after Royal Rumble
Bayley (c) vs. Dana Brooke vs. Lacey Evans- SmackDown Women’s Championship
Bayley successfully defended her title against Lacey Evans at the Royal Rumble PPV, albeit in controversial fashion thanks to a roll of the tights. That tells me their feud is not quite over yet, but it also does not mean that there won’t be other obstacles in Bayley’s way.
She still has to fend off a new challenger in Dana Brooke, but just after Brooke claims a number one contendership somehow, Evans refuses to go away, demanding another shot at Bayley until Brooke’s promised one-on-one title match is turned into a Triple Threat, which only devastates Brooke, who’s fought for too long to get a one-on-one title match. Now, her friend and frequent tag partner is in her way, causing a rift between them.
Now, will the friends team up to take out Bayley, or will animosities flare up to the point that the two cancel each other out. I think this would create an interesting dynamic, even though I expect the latter scenario is more likely, with Bayley picking off the bones of both to retain.
Winner: Bayley
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Nia Jax – Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch finally redeemed herself by defeating Asuka last night and, in all likelihood, is facing Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. But she still needs a challenger before The Show of Shows. I can’t help but feel like Nia Jax is next on her chopping block.
Jax was expected to show up in the Royal Rumble last night, but perhaps as not to have the Rumble festivities overshadow her big return from injury, she was absent from the PPV entirely. If I were a betting man, I’d bet that she returns later tonight on Raw to make her presence known and to set up a feud with The Man.
If Lynch is all about redeeming herself, she still has not quite gotten back at the self-proclaimed Facebreaker for breaking her face right before Survivor Series. Perhaps in small doses with an attack backstage at TLC and then by eliminating her at the Royal Rumble, but the two have yet to have a one-on-one match. Also, let’s not forget that right after that elimination, Jax further injured Lynch’s knee, nearly costing The Man of her Rumble victory. That demands payback in itself.
Once Lynch officially puts Jax in her rear view just as she did Asuka, then she’s ready to care about Flair.
