Report: WWE United States Champion Andrade suspended for 30 days
In a shocking turn of events, WWE have suspended their United States Champion, Andrade, for violating their Wellness Policy.
Earlier tonight on Monday Night Raw, Andrade defended his WWE United States Championship against Humberto Carrillo for the second night in a row. He successfully defended the belt at Royal Rumble the previous night last Sunday.
Tonight, he lost the match by DQ thanks to interference by his manager, Zelina Vega. Of course, a disqualification finish means a retain for Andrade. However, after the match, in similar fashion to what El Idolo did to the young upstart last month, the challenger hit the champion with a Hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete ground after removing the outside mat. In lieu of recent news, it appears this angle might effectively write Andrade off of television for the next month or so.

Per a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, Andrade has been suspended for violating the WWE Wellness Policy. It is unclear what substance exactly Andrade tested positive for, but sources told the website that the champion learned of his suspension this morning and the suspension will be effective after tonight.
It is also unclear where this turn of events leaves the United States Championship itself. It is assumed that tonight’s post-match angle was used to write the champ off television, but it is unknown whether the belt will be vacated in Andrade’s absence or if he will simply disappear quietly for a month still holding his championship in the meantime.
We will continue keep you posted with further updates. As is the case with most of the WWE’s suspensions, the company is expected to make a more formal announcement regarding the status of Andrade on their website.
