Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler has been positioned as a top candidate rumored to face Becky Lynch for the title at Mania ever since she picked up a victory over her (granted, she pinned Bayley in the triple threat, not Lynch) in the main event of Survivor Series, her first major PPV event.

Baszler has since lost her NXT Championship, but that did not stop her from being a favorite to win the Royal Rumble in hopes of her moving on to a bigger title on a bigger brand against a bigger threat. Of course, as we know now, that was not the case.

However, the rumors about Baszler vs. Lynch being planned for WrestleMania continue to circulate. It is a mystery to imagine how the proposed match could happen and how Baszler could jump from one brand to the next without needing a Rumble win to justify the move, but this is certainly a match that should not be taken off the table at this point.

The story is certainly there, what with both Superstar’s history with each other and Lynch’s history with the former NXT Champion’s Horsewoman buddy. Then, of course, let’s not forget just how incredible their TV segments were together last fall. That interview segment up there alone was WrestleMania worthy.

Maybe it’s time to bring a WrestleMania worthy feud to WrestleMania.
