With matches like Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan and Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch, the year 2019 was filled with top-quality in-ring action in WWE. Here are five matches we’d love to see in 2020.

The collection of talent on the WWE roster is unbelievable right now, and it’s let to the best match quality we’ve ever seen in the company. While fans split hairs about storytelling and promos, they are pretty much united in saying that wrestlers today are simply at another level inside the squared circle.

That said, the right story can do so much to making the in-ring action look that much better. Take Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks at Hell in a Cell as an example. Or how about Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35? Nothing can top how real and emotional that victory was.

Here are five matches we’d love to see in WWE this year.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley at WrestleMania

We’ve seen Sasha Banks vs. Bayley several times, including on Raw. But they haven’t had a high stakes match since NXT TakeOver: Respect in Oct. 2015. WWE teased a major rivalry match between them at WrestleMania 34 or SummerSlam 2018, but they never went ahead with it.

There’s reason to believe Banks vs. Bayley will be the SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 36, and if WWE pulls the trigger on the bout, it could be a WrestleMania classic for the ages.

Bayley and Banks put on two of the greatest matches of the modern era in NXT, and yet they have evolved into even better performers five years later. You know, as you would expect from professional athletes entering their primes.

So prime Bayley and Banks fighting for one of WWE’s most prestigious titles on the Grandest Stage of Them All? Sign me up, please!
