This Friday on WWE SmackDown, Otis has got himself a date with Mandy Rose. Surely, she’s turning on him, right? And she should, right? The answer is yes.

Friday, this week, will be Feb. 14, which most of us may be able to recognize as Valentine’s Day. Depending on the circumstances, you may be out celebrating with your partner, or stay in watching WWE SmackDown. Perhaps you’ll be watching with your partner, if you’re both into wrestling, but if you tune in, you’ll see a different romance blossom before your eyes.

After months (years, if you’ve seen his antics on social media) of chasing Mandy Rose like a lost puppy dog, Otis of Heavy Machinery finally gets the date he’s so desperately desired for so long and said date will be televised for the millions (and the MILLIONS) of people around the globe to see.

It’s just too bad that he’ll probably get his heart stomped out that same night.

Yes, I’m saying that the elimination save from Royal Rumble where Rose literally stepped on Otis’ chest is going to serve as a bit of foreshadowing for what to expect on Friday.

As the overly optimistic optimist that I am, there is nothing I wanted more than a babyface turn from Mandy Rose out of this storyline. Because we’re all expecting the heel turn, Rose shocking us all by forming a legit, wholesome duo (platonic or romantic, doesn’t matter) with Otis is the kind of content I die for.

But it’s unlikely, hence why my heart still has a pulse.

It’s unlikely because we all know how WWE loves to pull at our heart strings and break our hearts with romance angles like this. And truthfully, with an angle like this, maybe they should.

If WWE truly want to prime Mandy Rose as their next top heel Superstar at the head of her division, then nothing will make fans hate her more than to have her break Otis’ heart on Valentine’s Day of all days, weeks after putting on an act of being his genuine friend.

WWE got many of us to fall in love with the pairing of Otis and Mandy Rose, but to snatch it all away within an instant on a romantic day like Valentine’s Day is heel heat waiting to happen.
