Mustafa Ali

As Cageside Seats’ Cain A. Knight recently wrote, Mustafa Ali has been conspicuous by his absence. Last year at this time, Ali was a man on the rise on SmackDown, having put on some great matches with the likes of Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. It seemed like he was destined for a massive 2019 after being a top star on 205 Live, but his push fizzled out, even after he returned from an injury.

Ali hasn’t been on television since teaming up with Shorty G on Dec. 13, and the two looked awesome together in the ring. He’s been involved in dark matches on SmackDown, but that’s about it for Ali, who is one of the biggest fan favorites in professional wrestling.

But it would be a heck of a return if Ali appeared on the Feb. 14 episode of SmackDown as Roman Reigns’ tag team partner against “The Dirt Sheet”. It would be wild watching Ali and Reigns work together, sapping up adoration from the crowd while showing off their excellent selling and athleticism. Both men are known as singles wrestlers, but the are also great in tag matches – particularly Reigns, of course.

WWE fans have sorely missed Ali, who hasn’t appeared on television yet in 2020. They are waiting to cheer Ali as loudly as they did before, so it’d be great to see him back in the ring in a big spot.
