The latest WWE Rumors have tabbed The Undertaker for a dream match with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36, but it appears that the company has more planned for The Phenom in 2020.

Although we’ve mostly seen The Undertaker wrestle at shows in Saudi Arabia, which promise major paydays for the legendary WWE superstar, he has competed at WrestleMania 33 and WrestleMania 34 with an additional appearance to beat up Elias at WrestleMania 35.

This year, Taker is scheduled to wrestle AJ Styles at the Show of Shows, as first reported by WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard.

Why Styles? Per WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, The Phenom chose Styles as his opponent, as he sees The Phenomenal One as a “modern-day Shawn Michaels”.

The Michaels comparisons are nothing new for Styles, and WWE once teased a dream match at WrestleMania between the two legends.

Michaels has wrestled in Saudi Arabia since his retirement, but a final dream match with the former Bullet Club leader still seems unlikely. The Heartbreak Kid is currently fulfilling an important role in NXT, coaching the next generation of talent in WWE.

But The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles would more than move the meter. Taker will have time to train for the big match, seeing as how he won’t be competing against Sting at Super ShowDown in February.

Styles can help Taker have an incredible match, even in the later stages of The Phenom’s career. As long as the Dead Man has the right opponent and adequate time to prepare, he can still “go” in the ring.

Because of The Undertaker’s boundless popularity and his ability to still wrestle with preparation, it’s not out of the question to see him wrestle a couple of more times after WrestleMania.

In fact, WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis is also reporting that WWE may have “something special” planned for the Dead Man at Survivor Series. Taker debuted at Survivor Series exactly 30 years ago, so it would make all the sense in the world for him to have a big role at the show or to be honored in some way.

Davis’ article phrases it as early discussions, and a lot can change between February and Survivor Series in November. But it seems like a safe bet to assume Taker will have a role to play at his 30th anniversary in the company, especially since he’s already poised to have a dream match against Styles at WrestleMania.

It looks like The Undertaker is about to have an exciting 2020, and if WWE play their cards right, they can feed into fans’ nostalgia even more.
