2) The Women’s Division is Heating Up

Since Nyla Rose won the AEW Women’s World Championship, the division has started to see a new group of challengers come forward to challenge the monstrous heel. Nyla has used size and power to dominate many of the smaller women in AEW to this point, and it wasn’t until Kris Statlander stood face to face with the Native Beast that we began to see someone that Nyla might not be able to throw around.

Statlander has earned a shot at the AEW Women’s World title in the last few weeks by beating amassing a good win/loss record and standing above all the rest. The match was made official last week, and AEW Countdown featured some great insight into both Nyla and Statlander before their war.

Alongside this, we got to see a good women’s 4 way match between Yuka Sakazaki, Shanna, Hikaru Shida, & Big Swole. The implications of this match for who would be moving on to face Nyla next was very important, especially as Swole confronted Nyla last week. However, Swole was unable to get the win here, as Hikaru Shida came out with the win, and is slowly moving towards a title match with the champion, should Nyla get by Kris Statlander at AEW Revolution.
