Although he is known for walking alone and is now involved in a program with Styles, Aleister Black had a pretty significant rivalry with Buddy Murphy on WWE Raw and he would thereby be a sensible tag team partner for Owens. There were hints of Black being involved in this rivalry when Seth Rollins eliminated him from the Royal Rumble with Murphy’s assistance from the outside.

In fact, once he got eliminated from the Rumble, Black even helped Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe fend off Murphy and AOP into the backstage area. It is quite peculiar as to why WWE did not follow up on this interaction on the following Raw.
