As the Coronavirus has spread to America, fans are concerned for how WWE could handle their shows. It seems as though they’re taking steps for their Superstars’ safety.
For those unaware, the Coronavirus is a collection of RNA viruses typically found in diseases for birds and mammals, but now over the past couple of months, symptoms have been found in humans.
The affect of the Coronavirus on humans range from the common cold to lethal, rare forms of SARS, MERS, and COVID-19. The disease spreads easily through close contact, specifically respiratory contact (i.e. sneezing and coughing).
As these symptoms have been appearing in people worldwide and the death toll grows, different wrestling promotions have been forced to take certain precautions. New Japan Pro Wrestling, for example, have cancelled a series of their own events – including the New Japan Cup – because of the Coronavirus, while travel to Japan itself has been prohibited by some airlines.

More recently, a Coronavirus outbreak has been detected in the Tampa Bay area where WWE is expected to hold their upcoming WrestleMania 36 show, near the Raymond James Arena. With Mania being just over a month away, some fans have been concerned as to whether or not Mania would need to be cancelled this year in lieu of the disease. Although, Stephanie McMahon said that the company was merely monitoring the situation closely at the moment.
Now, Mike Johnson on behalf of PWInsider is reporting that a backstage meeting was held yesterday right before Raw about the Coronavirus, specifically how their Superstars can protect themselves while traveling on the road and how to avoid contacting it (among other risks) from fans in attendance.
It was described as a basic, run of the mill interview, but at the very least it appears that WWE are taking internal precautions with their staff in light of this pandemic.
