AEW Double or Nothing 2020: Early match card predictions

In the night’s next grudge match, I’m predicting Brodie Lee to be the man with Jake the Snake standing in his corner. There are surefire reasons to see it as a real possibility, but it’s also a bit of a dream pairing. We got glimpses of Brodie Lee’s amazing in-ring prowess during his tenure with WWE as Luke Harper, but he never really got to thrive there.

If anyone in All Elite Wrestling has shown a willingness and ability to help others thrive and get new talent over at the expense of his own body, it’s Cody. Look no further than his Steel Cage Match with Wardlow or the extensive rivalry with MJF. Both of them were hugely elevated by working with Cody. Now, it’s time for Brodie Lee to get the same opportunity.

As Jake the Snake explained in a chillingly executed promo on the Mar. 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, he’s only there for Cody’s “share of the pie.” Weeks of Brodie Lee and Jake the Snake making life hell for Cody can culminate in this match at AEW Double or Nothing 2020, where I’d expect a star-making performance that sees Brodie Lee terrifyingly dominant over the beloved Cody.
