At WWE Elimination Chamber 2020, Shayna Baszler eliminated every single woman in the match. And it’s Paul Heyman who is reportedly looking to put over the Queen of Spades as a monster.

Shayna Baszler was booked incredibly strongly in WWE NXT, as she is the only wrestler in history to win the NXT Women’s Title twice.

She is part of a rare group of two-time champions with the Black and Gold brand, and after nearly winning the Royal Rumble this year, she’s already headed for a Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 36 against top star Becky Lynch.

Everyone knew that Shayna would win the Elimination Chamber match, which main evented the Pay Per View. There was no doubt about it. Shayna vs. Becky had been the rumored WrestleMania match for months with the seeds planted in the main event of Survivor Series.

However, many fans were put off by how Baszler won the match, as she eliminated every other woman in the bout in a way that it wasn’t satisfying.

It definitely put over Baszler big-time as Lynch’s opponent for WrestleMania, but fans were incredibly disappointed.

According to a report from WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, it seems like we can focus on Paul Heyman as being the decision-maker who wanted Baszler to win in this fashion.

Per Davis, Heyman is “very high” on Baszler, and since WWE felt the fans knew Baszler would win, they decided to have her win in the strongest way possible.

Heyman’s admiration for Baszler is unsurprising, but it is good to hear that someone backstage believes in the two-time NXT Champion.

We heard earlier rumors that Vince McMahon didn’t like Shayna’s match against Kairi Sane on Raw, which worried some fans.

The narrative has shifted a little from the fans after Baszler’s win, and NXT observers already had issues with Baszler’s booking after how she beat stars like Bianca Belair and Mia Yim in the past.

Baszler seems ticketed for a huge win over Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, and it has to take someone special to beat a top star like Becky. So I guess that’s the thought process here.

Regardless of what you think about Baszler as a performer, it’s good to hear that Heyman is supporting an important woman on the Raw roster who recently joined the show. We’ve heard so much about the male wrestlers Heyman wants to push, so it’s important for him to be just as committed to pushing the women on Monday nights, too.
