Days before Shayna Baszler is set to claim her WrestleMania spot against Becky Lynch, the rumor now is that Vince McMahon has second thoughts on the match.

This Sunday, Shayna Baszler is set to partake in an Elimination Chamber match to decide Becky Lynch’s challenger for her Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36. Considering that Lynch vs. Baszler has been the big Mania rumor since even before the Royal Rumble, it is a pretty safe bet to assume The Queen of Spades walks out of the chamber victorious.

However, the closer we get to WrestleMania, the bet is starting to feel like less of a safe one. In a new Wrestling Observer Newsletter report from Dave Meltzer (h/t WrestlingNews.Co), it is now speculated that Vince McMahon may be having his doubts about positioning Baszler as his top heel on Raw.

The reason being because – as some readers may recall – her match with Kairi Sane last Monday on Raw (Baszler’s very first match on Raw) received a poor crowd reaction, receiving “This is boring!” chants. While Paul Heyman is the booking mind backstage pushing hard for Baszler’s push, it appears McMahon seems more concerned and uncertain, not seeing Baszler as the Mania headliner he wants her to be.

If McMahon isn’t behind Baszler, then that perhaps puts plans for her WrestleMania spot in jeopardy. Granted, for all they have done to push Baszler in the last few weeks, it’s doubtful to think she doesn’t walk out of the Chamber as the new number one contender, but now it seems uncertain for her to dethrone Lynch, another popular rumor.

Of course, nothing is set in stone until it’s confirmed. We will just have to wait and see what happens this Sunday for Elimination Chamber and, most importantly, a month from now at WrestleMania.
