#3. Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens – NXT Championship – TakeOver: Brooklyn (August 22, 2015)

WWE NXT’s second-ever ladder match went down at the first TakeOver to emanate outside of Full Sail. Fitting, right? The stipulation was also fitting as the blow-off to Finn Balor and Kevin Owens’ feud over the NXT Championship.

Even though we knew there was virtually no chance of Owens regaining the title after his transition to Raw, these two made sure their match was one to remember. Their task was even more challenging considering they had to close out the show after Bayley and Sasha Banks outright stole it.

Balor sporting his Demon paint gave this an even bigger feel. But what has stuck with fans after all these years was the match’s fast pace and hard-hitting action both in and out of the ring. As much as I love the current NXT product, I sure do miss these days.

#2. Street Profits vs. Undisputed Era vs. Forgotten Sons vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch – WWE NXT Tag Team Championship – TakeOver: XXV (Jun. 1, 2019)

At a time where WWE NXT’s tag team division consisted of just these four teams, there was some doubt that Undisputed Era would walk away without their titles. What we ended up seeing was a thing of brutal beauty.

This was truly the definition of bodies flying all around. Undisputed Era proved why they were at the top for so long. The Forgotten Sons had a breakout performance and proved they shouldn’t be forgotten in the least. Oney and Danny reminded the world why they should be on TakeOvers more often.

But it was the Street Profits who proved why they were worthy of being the new champions. After years of grinding, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins ceased the moment and walked out of the human demolition derby with the gold intact. This one will live forever on my list of favorite TakeOver matches.
