Shayna Baszler

Okay, this is going to completely contradict what I said about Bayley’s title loss needing to feel like a big deal and lacking such a deal in an empty arena. I know, technically we should apply that same theory to Becky Lynch and her large red strap. In fact, I have in the past, but suddenly, I’ve had a chance of heart.

Big crowd or not, the fact remains that Baszler’s entire road leading up to this weekend has been paved in gold. All signs have set Baszler up perfectly as an unstoppable foe, the biggest challenge The Man has ever faced and the one woman who could possibly dethrone Lynch after no one could do so in the last year.

Would a moment like this be better suited for an actual stage with an actual crowd? Of course, but sometimes, we need to make exceptions. This is such an exception.

When WWE has put in so much work and effort to highlight The Queen of Spades as The Baddest Woman on the Planet, WrestleMania is the time to follow through on it. Otherwise, what was the point of it all just to book Baszler to lose?
