Golden☆Ace (Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi)

The other dream match in NJPW for The Revival is a much newer team than most on this list. Having only been together since February of 2020, Golden☆Ace are already the reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions, which they defeated Gurrillas of Destiny to capture.

It’s not necessarily their tag team tenure that makes this so enticing, but rather the individual talent and tenure of both Tanahashi and Ibushi. These two main event stars could easily lead the company right now but have joined forces to find tag team success. This may be the only chance we get to see The Revival in the ring with two competitors like Tanahashi and Ibushi, so it’s one NJPW should try to make a reality.

The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

Probably the most obvious entry on this list, the nature of this seeming like a foregone conclusion doesn’t make the potential match any less fascinating to imagine. On the surface, these two teams couldn’t seem more different.

The Revival lived by the motto “no flips, just fists” in NXT, whereas the high-flying fast-paced nature of The Young Bucks has reached the point where they’ve taken criticisms against them and claimed ownership of them, using comments about them “killing the business” on merchandise and their upcoming autobiography.

While their styles may seem different, there’s one big thing The Young Bucks and The Revival have in common. They all love tag team wrestling. Their delivery might not be the same, but their commitment is, and these two teams would undoubtedly deliver an instant classic once given the opportunity.
