Jack Gallagher

Jack Gallagher is a name that is often forgotten about when it comes to the cruiserweight title picture. When the division first started, he was gaining steam as a comedic type attraction with the fans. That died off in a sense as Gallagher was yet another name that was left on the shelf as WWE Creative when in a different direction with other competitors. Now, is the best time as ever to reinsert him into the title picture as a deranged and violent heel.

Gallagher can work a variety of styles, but his mat-based moves are a strong opposite to many of the others on this list. When coupled with his new look, Gallagher could play the part of the stretcher looking to maim people on the way to the title.

The WWE could use this as an opportunity to present a new face when there’s a devoid of men and women available to perform in the WWE ring.

Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander hasn’t had the most success since joining the WWE. Alexander held the WWE Cruiserweight title for 181 days, but outside of that he hasn’t been utilized in the greatest fashion.

He won the 2018 Cruiserweight tournament at another time when the championship was vacated for circumstances. Alexander is a big name that would enter the event as a favorite but could be used in a fashion to help someone else get over in a division in which he’s not fully relevant at this time.

This doesn’t mean break up the newly formed team of Ricochet and Alexander. Instead, this is another opportunity to leverage Alexander’s place in the cruiserweight division at a time when it is needed.

Any wrestler that would earn a win over him in this event could be a “dark horse” in the overall tournament. Alexander has cache as a cruiserweight which should be leveraged at a time when the division is looking to grow new faces.
