WWE Money in the Bank 2020: 3 Superstars Who Need To Win
By Mark Justice
2.) Drew McIntyre
The BeastSlayers are clashing! Drew McIntyre will be defending his WWE Championship against The Monday Night Messiah at this Sunday’s MITB PPV. This bout should be a proving grounds for McIntyre as he aspires to validate his WWE Championship victory against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 with a definitive victory over fellow Beast Slayer, Seth Rollins, who similarly dethroned Lesnar a year earlier at WrestleMania 35.
Rollins keeps mentioning that he wants to unburden McIntyre of the top spot of Monday Night Raw because he feels that McIntyre is not yet ready to lead the red brand and carry it on his back. McIntyre needs to win to solidify his position as the leader of the flagship show and prove Rollins and all of his critics wrong.
Unlike Rollins, McIntyre won his very first WWE Championship by defeating Lesnar after dreaming broken dreams for ten years. Defeating Rollins at WWE MITB 2020 will also prove why his victory over Lesnar in the main event of a crowd-less WrestleMania 36 was more meaningful than Rollins’ victory over Lesnar at the start of a jam-packed WrestleMania 35.
If Rollins wins, McIntyre’s journey to the top of the mountain and his victory over Lesnar at Mania would mean nothing anymore. It is absolutely necessary for McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship in his very first title defense.
