Jungle Boy vs. MJF

On paper, this looks random, but on the surface, even without a storyline (as of this writing at least, so there is still a lot of time and episodes of Dynamite for this to develop), Jungle Boy vs. MJF makes a lot of sense. At least as to why AEW would want to book this match out of nowhere.

Despite being in a tag team, Jungle Boy is slowly gaining a following among fans and a push from the boys in the back. That was especially evident during his skirmish last fall against Chris Jericho. One day, Jungle Boy could be one of the centerpieces of AEW’s main event picture as a singles star.

The company is taking the steps necessary to put JB on that trajectory now and there’s no better way to make him out to be a lovable babyface than pitting him against one of AEW’s most hated heels. Even better, this comes nearly two months after MJF has been inactive in the ring thanks to a pesky hangnail injury (seriously).

But since MJF is a little closer to becoming a main event star than JB is right now, expect MJF to win, especially given all of the momentum he’s lost since beating Cody at the last PPV, thanks to not being on TV for so long.

Prediction: MJF
