Cody vs. Lance Archer – TNT Championship

It seems like forever ago that Jake Roberts first confronted Cody on Dynamite, promising to knock “Caesar” off his high horse. Shortly afterwards, The Snake introduced Lance Archer as his brand new client, although Archer and Cody have yet to cross paths in the middle of the ring.

Coincidentally, not much longer after all of this, a tournament was established to crown a new, first ever TNT Champion. Coincidentally, both Cody and Archer were inserted on opposite sides of the tourney. And coincidentally, because wrestling is full of coincidences (you’d think wrestling was scripted or something), Cody and Archer will meet in the finals of the tourney, taking place at the PPV.

My pick for this one is Cody. It’s less that I think he should win and more that I think he needs to win this one. Not only because this would mark his third PPV loss in a row, but Roberts dropped a snake on and did some other weird stuff to his wife. Cody would look like a chump if he took that lying down and got beat by Roberts’ lackey.

Plus, since he can’t challenge for the World Championship ever again, it wouldn’t hurt to keep Cody busy with a few TNT Title defenses for the time being.

Prediction: Cody
