WWE Backlash 2020: 5 possible opponents for Bayley

We haven’t seen the legendary Mickie James wrestle in a WWE ring since the WrestleMania 35 Women’s Battle Royal that was won by Carmella. And we haven’t seen James wrestle in a singles match in WWE since she lost to Ember Moon in December 2018.

However, James did tease returning to WWE early in 2020, so fans were wondering if she could be a possible opponent at WrestleMania 36 for Bayley. That, of course, never happened, as Mickie remained on the sidelines, while The Role Model was forced to retain the title in an excellent multi-woman match.

For some reason, I have a feeling we could see James return to the ring in 2020, and while it would be incredibly bold to predict her as a WWE Backlash 2020 opponent for Bayley, why not go bold? I mean, who saw Tamina suddenly becoming a viable title contender and getting two opportunities to win the championship? (And by the way, she’s been very good!)

Mickie James vs. Bayley is a dream title match. Remember how good Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie was in 2017 with Mickie as the babyface and Alexa as a heel? Well, imagine how awesome Mickie vs. 2020 heel Bayley would be!
