Chris Jericho is beyond evil

AEW know that they have to walk a fine line with Chris Jericho, because he can very easily become the “cool heel”. I mean, who doesn’t want to root for Jericho? And AEW should actually lean into that factor with Y2J, but Jericho knows as well as anyone that the heel is the ultimate unselfish role in wrestling. The job of the heel is to get the babyface over.

On Sunday, we saw King Corbin throw Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black off the roof at Money in the Bank. WWE explained away the double-homicide by stating that the two men fell onto a “second roof” and then obsessively kept talking about this supposed second roof. Meanwhlie, Corbin suffered no repercussions for his actions, nor did he gain any more heat.

Contrast this to Jericho demolishing the beloved Vanguard One with a baseball bat. It was a murderous act of the evilest form, killing an innocent, defenseless drone on a televised program. Matt Hardy rushed out to examine the wreckage, despondent at the loss of what he considers a family member.

Jericho promises dastardly deeds at the upcoming Double or Nothing brawl in a football stadium, but little does he know that the comeuppance will be strong next Saturday. Hardy (um, sorry, Damascus) will be seething.
