An awesome women’s match

Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose is the AEW Women’s Championship match at Double or Nothing, and that match could end up being the most interesting on the entire card. But I was also happy to see AEW announce a non-title women’s match for the Pay Per View, especially since this match could kick-start one of the best rivalries in the promotion.

Britt Baker and Kris Statlander competed alongside Hikaru Shida and Penelope Ford in another tremendous Fatal Four-Way match. Shida ended up winning by pinning Ford with a knee strike, but as this was happening, Baker had Statlander in a Lockjaw, somehow finding a glove (maybe she hid it under the ring or in her gear) to perform the submission.

It was as if Baker didn’t even care about winning the title, because why else would she want to put Statlander in a submission outside the ring and not even care that the bell had already been rung? She just kept laying in the punishment on Statlander, who has been marked as her target.

Statlander could get the win at Double or Nothing in shocking fashion to really piss off Baker and turn the rivalry up a notch after DoN. Either way, I’m ready for what’s next.
