Dark Order need this win; can’t afford another L

Prior to Brodie Lee joining The Dark Order as The Exalted One, AEW tried their damndest to book The Dark Order as the promotion’s next top heel faction and, to put it mildly, it just didn’t work.

The final Dynamite episode of 2019 ended with The Dark Order standing tall over The Elite and it was ridiculed universally as a dud of a segment (mostly thanks to some ill timed punches from an extra).

For the longest time, The Dark Order were viewed as nothing more than a joke, but Brodie Lee helped add a special presence to the group in just a short amount of time. Now, they feel like they actually could be AEW’s top heel stable one day surpassing The Inner Circle. But a big loss in a big match could slow down all of the progress the group has had as of late.

Lee suffering his first loss in his first PPV Match so soon since his debut earlier this year appoints him as exactly what Dark Order were in their pre-Lee days – a loser – but a win officially appoints them among the roster’s top echelon.
