Stadium Stampede Match

The Elite (Matt Hardy, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson) vs. Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz)

Bryan Heaton: I’ll be honest, I had tickets to the Blood & Guts event in Newark that was a victim of the pandemic. So I’ll be watching this one with a tinge of disappointment and jealousy, since I’d rather see the intended bout in all its glory.

But going the empty arena route inside a stadium is an interesting Plan B, and given the propensity of unusual weapons in this feud, I’m curious to see what gets used here. Could someone get bonked on the head with a tap handle from a beer stand? Maybe Hager will use a tackling sled to mow down the Bucks.

However it shakes out at AEW Double or Nothing 2020, the key point for me is Hangman Page picking up the victory for his squad, which will further the split brewing between him and Omega before finally blowing off with “Hangman Rage” later this summer. But The Elite wins this one, as united as they can possibly be.

Chris Jeter: The Hangman Page turn is coming, but it won’t happen in this match. Yes, they’ll tease it during the late stages of the match, but in the end, he’ll help his comrades fend of Chris Jericho and his henchmen for a much needed Elite victory.

More from All Elite Wrestling

Samantha Schipman: Although I hope that we eventually get Blood & Guts, I’m looking forward to Stadium Stampede. The Inner Circle have tormented The Elite since Dynamite’s (and Dark) inception. The Elite have gotten some retribution, but not in the way a win at Stadium Stampede would. A win for The Elite is what much of the AEW fandom has been waiting for. Although I do think The Elite wins, I think it will be in spite of Hangman Page turning on Kenny Omega. This has been brewing for a long time.

I originally predicted this would happen at the aforementioned Blood & Guts, so DoN is as good a time as any. Page has even more ammo with Omega successfully teaming with Matt Hardy. He did come in for the save on Dynamite.

While there is a lot of tension between Page and the rest of the Elite, he won’t put that ahead of beating the Inner Circle. He’s turned himself into a loner, so I don’t see him leaving one group for another. He’ll help the Elite get the win.

Jesse Velasquez: This is an interesting substitution for the original Blood and Guts match they were supposed to have. We are guaranteed to see some innovative spots and mayhem all over the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium. We still will likely the Blood and Guts match later on down the road when fans can fill up an arena.

Will The Elite still be in tact for that future showdown? There have been teases of a split between Hangman Page and The Elite for almost 9 months. It will be a little strange to have a turn with no fans in attendance, but it might be the time to pull the trigger on it. The Inner Circle will win this match and this feud will continue with Hangman turning on the Elite.
