Hardy reincarnates … again and again

Somewhat early on in the match, Santana and Ortiz of Proud ‘n’ Powerful tried to drown Matt Hardy in the stadium’s second floor pool (because all the rules go out the window in Falls Count Anywhere matches like these, even murder is allowed). Unfortunately for Santana and Ortiz, Matt Hardy is a walking, talking Lake of Reincarnation.

First, Hardy was driven head first underwater only to emerge in his classic Hardy Boyz gear, hands firmly stuck giving the famous Hardy signal. When driven underneath again, not only did he come back as V1 Matt, but so did his classic Matt(er of) Facts. Which, somehow, in fourth wall breaking fashion, even Proud ‘n’ Powerful could read on the screen.

Hardy eventually returned to his current Damascus character, but for a moment, we caught a fun reminder for all of the times that Hardy was able to maintain his longevity over the years by evolving into an entirely new character.

Also, speaking of Proud ‘n’ Powerful, one understated moment from that instance was Ortiz being unable and unwilling to swim, despite the pool itself only being about three feet high.
