Number 2

Men’s Division

Hangman Adam Page – “Ghost Town Triumph”

I’m going to start by saying that Hangman is my favorite wrestler right now. As a big Western fan, I love the persona, the aesthetic, the attitude, everything. The theme song is a perfect addition to his collective appeal. It is the best character theme song in AEW that captures all of what Page is and stands for.

The lone intro blossoms into an epic, world-opening song, casting a certain aura over the area every time it plays.  Vincent Pedulla does a phenomenal job taking me to a place reminiscent of Sergio Leone movie, as if Ennio Morricone was scoring the long walk to the ring. It is my personal favorite theme song.

Makes you want to grab a drink at a salon? Yes

Chances of you getting into a fight at said salon? I’d reckon those are high, friend.

Chances of you winning said fight? I’d say about half.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? On repeat.

Women’s Division

Nyla Rose – “Beast Bomb”

Another division where number 1 or number 2 could be exchanged. For a while, this sat at my number 1 spot, but the recent decision to add lyrics to it ultimately knocked it down to number 2. The instrumental composition is beautifully produced. From the beginning with the screech that silents everyone, the theme song demands your attention. The drumming leads into a hypnotizing progression that uses a wide variety of instruments that I couldn’t even name for you. It’s menacing, it is so good in setting the tone for what Nyla is: focused, determined, and ready to beat down any opponent in her path.

The addition of lyrics at Double of Nothing 2020 really deflated some of the air out of this theme song, making it feel like more like a rock song. I honestly felt like there was absolutely no need for the singing, and it doesn’t add any dimension for her.

Do you get chills when this song plays? Yes.

Chances of fleeing and retreating? ABANDON YOUR POSTS! FLEE! FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES!

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Non-lyric version should join the workout playlist.

Tag Team Division

Lucha Bros – “Lucha Bros Theme Song”

Lucha Bros, Mexi-king, Cero Miedo, Meet Us in the Ring.

Just like the other divisions, It was really tough for me to put this at second.

An ominous beat, a catchy hook, a great catchphrase. This song delivers, though the verse can leave a bit to desire. Though it is a very short song and loops, the fact that in those minutes, the song sets the tone. The Lucha Bros do not mess around, and the song does a good job capturing their personas and style in a direct way. The dark opening and punishing trap beat puts the arena and the match on the Bros’ home field: a place of zero fear.

Do you know what Cero Miedo means? Si.

Do you want to live your life with zero fear? Yes.

Chances of actually doing that? Ummm, let me get back to you on that.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Most Definitely.
