WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House 5 Biggest Takeaways
By Amit Shukla
WWE NXT TakeOver In Your House was a success, but what does its events mean for its future programming? Let’s talk takeaways.
NXT TakeOver In Your House is now in the record books, and it is a known fact that WWE always delivers when the third brand has a TakeOver show.
The show had so many moments and hidden aspects in it that one would have to fathom on what happened and how NXT always delivers. The trio from DX, Road Dogg, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H ensure that the black and gold brand is the talk of the town during weekly and special shows.
While some may have a different opinion and put across viewership ratings to substantiate their claim, it is a given that when two shows go head to head, one finds the edge while the other suffers to some extent. The same was evident during Monday Night Wars and now on Wednesday Nights, but this time around, we are talking about the show that happened this past Sunday.
Appended are the takeaways for your reading pleasure, and I welcome you to share your thoughts in the comments section for the readers’ kind perusal. So without further ado, let’s dive right into it:
Velveteen couldn’t fulfill his dream, but will soon
If you watched the show, you would be aware that Adam Cole used a low blow to retain his title. It indicates that the NXT Champion didn’t get the pin in the right fashion. Velveteen Dream had a great match with a phenomenal superstar, and if the rumor mill is anything to go by, Adam Cole’s contract expires in August.
Per the Last Chance stipulation for the match, Velveteen Dream cannot challenge for the title for as long as Adam Cole holds on to it, but what if Cole loses the title at the upcoming NXT TakeOver that takes place in Brooklyn on Aug. 22 (in case things get back in order) or even before during an upcoming weekly show?
In that case, Velveteen’s dream will become closer to a reality and he will hold the NXT Championship around his waist soon enough.
It would be the start of the Dream Era on the black and gold brand and a push for one of the most talented superstars on the roster. We would have to wait and see who challenges him after his win because any and every major superstar on NXT would want to get their hands on the title.
