WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House 5 Biggest Takeaways
By Amit Shukla
Will The King Tame The Priest?
Finn Balor and Damian Priest fought a match that shifted between the two superstars, but it was The Prince that prevailed after the bell rung. Priest doesn’t have a competition by his side, and it doesn’t look like WWE would want to put him in any storyline that doesn’t yield results. In such a scenario, the only possible and best choice is that Priest continues his hunt for The Prince, and this would be good on a lot of levels.
Priest could call him out and then put Balor’s alter ego character The Demon King in the spotlight, which would entice the fans. Balor is a superstar whose addition to the roster has been beneficial to the NXT brand, and this story will involve the fans. WWE requires better ratings to counter it’s nemesis, and this will be the perfect way to do so.
Balor is a master of promos, and if he gets into it, one can rest assured that there will be fireworks every week on Wednesday Nights. His fight with Priest will help the experienced superstar get over with the fans who still needs some heat by his side to put him over as a reliable heel.
An Opportunity To Grow And Step Up To The Challenge
Now before I commence and culminate this slide, I know a lot of you were taken aback by the idea of Io Shirai being the new NXT Women’s Champion. She did have the accolades to be on the top of the NXT Women’s locker room, but we all or most of us had envisioned Rhea Ripley as the new NXT Women’s Champion.
It is because The Nightmare lost her title to The Queen at WrestleMania 36, and this would have been the perfect redemption for the former NXT Women’s Champion. It wouldn’t have served the other superstars on the brand.
Io Shirai’s win opens a land of opportunity (well it isn’t SmackDown but still) for the other superstars to showcase their skills and rise to the occasion. A lot of superstars can step up to the new NXT Women’s Champion, and we all know that they can perform when the opportunity knocks.
There are so many superstars that we can fondly remember and want them to get an opportunity. It is about time that the superstars can put the medal on the pedal, press the accelerator, go out there and make history.
Let’s see who steps up to the challenge to make their dream a reality.
