Number 4

Men’s Division

Jordan Devlin – “The Dragon of Jerusalem”

God, this theme song is so underrated. The creepy little prelude gives a chilling vibe. I honestly will start the song over sometimes just to experience it again.

The introduction of the instrumentals works so well as it slowly progresses and changes. There are so many parts of the song were a combination of notes, chords, or strange sound effects makes a compelling section that you could see as its own theme song.

When it comes to Devlin (a main reason I watch NXT UK), it gives off the vibe of a ruthlessness that would scare you if you actually met someone like this. Cold, calculating, and confident. The Irish Ace alright. I look forward to hearing this song more regularly.

Is this song infectious? Yes.

Chances of you replaying it or restarting it? High.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Yes, also on my workout playlist.

Women’s Division

Rhea Ripley – “Brutality”

THIS IS MY BRUTALITY! THIS IS MY! THIS IS MY! THIS IS MY

Number 5 pick. Ripley’s song is an intense song that matches the intensity of the Aussie A**kicker.  The metal song makes itself known with its powerful vocals shining through solid drum fills and power cords. The song does an excellent job of replicating the “take on any challengers” mentality of a face Ripley while also exerting the “challenging me is the last mistake you will make” attitude of heel Ripley.

Pumps you up to take on any challenge? Sure.

Chances of straining your voice singing? High.

Chances of hurting your leg while foot stopping? Critical.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Not really.

Tag Team Division

Grizzled Young Veterans – “Grit Your Teeth”

Dude, this song rocks sooo much. This division was one of the toughest to determine, thanks to teams like Zack Gibson and James Drake. When it comes to this theme, it ramps up and then hits you in the face. Imagine this song as the wrestling equivalent of jumping from the top rope only to be smack in the face by an uppercut. When it hits you, it HITS.

The song doesn’t change much in variation; it follows the same formula of other themes where they switch between different musical progression. The way that this song differs is that the music is super catchy. The theme song is led by distinct guitar riffs that is complimented by precision drum fills and effects. Just as the drums are steady and consistent to accompany and accentuate the sick guitar that elevates the theme, Drake wields a underrated wrestling technique and athletic ability that compliments Gibson’s overall excellent wrestling prowess and vicious execution.

Does it make you want to kick a garbage can or push over someone? Yes.

Chances of holding up a shoe? Moderate.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? 100% the quick progression is great for the middle of a playlist.
