WWE: The Horror Show at Extreme Rules Predictions Roundtable
Drew McIntyre defends the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler, the latter revealing his stipulation for the match at the PPV. What do you predict will be the stipulation, who emerges as WWE Champion, and what’s next for both competitors?
(Note: WWE may have inadvertently revealed the stipulation for the match with this post on Facebook.)
MJ: It would be a “bold swerve” if Drew McIntyre actually walked out of Extreme Rules with the WWE Championship. Dolph Ziggler has the sun in his pocket and the moon in his hands. All he has to do is throw it up against the stars and watch it move in a dance. Honestly, if Ziggler doesn’t win this match with his choice of stipulation, it would be embarrassing. Ziggler will ban the Claymore, emerge victorious as WWE Champion, and drop the title back to McIntyre at SummerSlam since he has a reputation of being booked as a transitional champion. Even Robert Roode might return to aid Ziggler in getting his hand raised.
The possibilities are endless, and Ziggler will capitalize on them. WWE can save that rumored McIntyre-Orton championship match at SummerSlam for later because Ziggler is undoubtedly winning his first WWE Championship at Extreme Rules.
AS: Drew McIntyre is a deserving champion, and there seems to be no reason to take the belt off of him as of this moment. He has made Dolph Ziggler look better with his work, and it would be a good idea to keep the belt on “The Scottish Pschyopath.”
McIntyre has a plethora of performers to face after Extreme Rules, which includes another quality feud with Lashley. Lashley has never looked more confident since his return because “The All-Mighty” is performing to his best possible level.
Ziggler would be a good fit against the United States Champion, and it would be wonderful if he tries to get Apollo Crews over while shifting his focus from the WWE Champion to the US Championship.
PL: I think the stipulation will be Falls Count Anywhere. The interview and brawl this week seemed like a nice way to set up a match in the backstage area. Drew McIntyre will retain and Dolph Ziggler will go back to wandering from show to show yelling about the opportunities he hasn’t received. Aleister Black should be McIntyre’s next challenge. WWE has to get him into the title picture soon. He’s basically twiddling his thumbs as a part of that program with Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio. That doesn’t seem likely though. Maybe there will be a big return in time for SummerSlam.
CJ: No stipulation could possibly make fans care anymore about this match than they already do (or don’t). Part of that is due to Dolph Ziggler’s lack of credibility as a threat to take the title; he could pick a stipulation where he wins on a one count and Drew McIntyre wins on a 4,000 count and he would still find a way to lose because that’s what Dolph Ziggler does. I’m guessing WWE won’t go with the leaked TLC stipulation, so I’ll go with a No Holds Barred match that McIntyre will win.
