WWE SummerSlam 2020 Predictions: Otis Will Cash In His MITB Contract

While our Mark Justice pontificated three reasons why Randy Orton will win at WWE SummerSlam 2020, there is a bigger reason why Drew McIntyre will win. Although Orton is valuable to the company, McIntyre is the future of this company and needs to go over. He needs to prove that he is on Orton’s level. On last week’s Raw, he showed that he was capable of being on Orton’s level on the mic. At SummerSlam, he needs to prove it in the ring.

McIntyre and Orton are both bellicose superstars who will do anything it takes to win their matches. It will be interesting to see how deep they dig in the build up for their storyline. Hopefully, there won’t be an inconclusive finish to this match that will protect both superstars because SummerSlam is an ideal stage to end feuds. However, with WWE Payback 2020 being rumored to occur a week later, expect some ‘broken dreams.’

Braun Strowman (c) vs. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt [Universal Championship]

Universal Champion Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt’s three-month program has run its course. While the Wyatt Family history was engrossing, there needs to be a change in the Universal Championship picture on the blue brand. The Universal Championship feud continually takes a back seat, rarely main events the show, and feels like an afterthought. Since The Fiend had arisen from the swamp, Wyatt should be capable of winning the championship back.

However, since Strowman was always a ‘plan B’ champion who replaced Roman Reigns and Wyatt was probably not in the original plans to win the championship back, why would either win? This would be the perfect moment to book a risible swerve, in which Otis cashes in his MITB contract to win the Universal Championship. With Otis as Universal Champion, it would spice things up in the very jejune Universal Championship picture on the blue brand.
