Winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles makes for a great comeback story for both Liv and Ruby individually & as a team.

The Riott Squad accomplishing the unthinkable by defeating the current tag champs, Nia Jax and The Queen of Spades, Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles would just be the icing on the cake for the duo. The Riott Squad has had their fair share of trials and tribulations both as a group and also as individual competitors, so being able to come back together and earn championship gold would be everything.

The demise of The Riott Squad occurred way before the group could even get their foot on the ground, as a result of former group leader, Ruby Riott suffering a shoulder injury. Throughout the second half of 2019, Ruby Riott would have to undergo two separate surgeries to repair bilateral injuries in her right and left shoulders.

Without Riott, it seemed as if Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan were left with no sense of direction, and the team slowly became an almost constant jobber to less charismatic and less dynamic tag teams. Liv Morgan moving to Smackdown during the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up solidified the end of the Riott Squad; however, every ending brings forth a new beginning.

Liv went on a “self-discovery” journey to find her true self, as she came to the realization that her former self allowed her friends to dictate and define who she was. This provided Morgan with the push that she needed to gain necessary character growth, which the WWE Universe has had the pleasure of witnessing this year.

Now, the band is back to gather, and both members have grown to be number one contender material, it is evident that these women are the walking definition of the ideal that sometimes you have to grow apart before you can grow together.

If these ladies can work cohesively together, they have a plausible chance at beating The Irresistible Force and The Queen on Spades for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. Coming out the winners in this WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match would be a crowning achievement for Morgan and Riott, as it would solidify that Liv and Ruby’s dedication to wrestling and their careers has finally paid off. The Riott Squad can, and will, earn the recognition that they deserve after they win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships this Sunday at Clash of Champions.
