A real tag team deserves the WWE Women’s Tag Team belts, not another makeshift team like the current champs.

Time and time again opportunities for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles have been given to put together teams, completely disregarding superior tag teams who actually have the caliber to make these titles notorious.

There is no denying that the team of Baszler and Jax is as dominant as they come, but they have a dominance that can stand on their own. Each woman’s personality does also exude alpha woman, which makes it difficult for these two to get along as tag team champions. Bringing together these two dominant forces makes sense, since the WWE has had a history of placing women who were at the top of the single’s division together to reign above all women in the tag team world.

These days should come to an end starting with The Riott Squad, as these two wrestlers have gained the expertise necessary to elevate the WWE Women’s Tag Team belts. The Riott Squad is actually a genuine team, which is why it makes sense for the duo to overcome the powers of The Irresistible Force and The Queen of Spades to earn the gold.

Yes, Bayley and Banks are two time WWE Women’s Tag Team champions, and The Kabuki Warriors created an impressive record-breaking reign as tag champs, but all of these women have always been singles competitors who thrived so well in their lane, that WWE decided they should dominate in the tag team division as well.

Although no former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have ever disappointed, this has left actual women’s tag teams like the Riott Squad, the once Fire & Desire, and former team of The IIconics, with no choice but to disband in the hopes of being more successful as singles competitors. If one thing is for certain, it is that breaking out as a single’s competitor is a strenuous goal, for any superstar, since the division is oversaturated at this point.

Ensuring that The Riott Squad comes out of Clash of Champions as the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will reign in a new era within the WWE, and that is one that focuses on allowing the genuine women’s tag teams to shine within the division.
