Strap Match: Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes

Another match that was confirmed this week as the saga between Dexter Lumis and Cameron Grimes continues, despite the best efforts of Grimes to move on from the man who so clearly terrifies him. A confrontation this week saw Lumis lay down the challenge, and William Regal confirmed the match will happen at NXT TakeOver WarGames.

This will actually be the second time we’ve seen Dexter Lumis in a Strap Match, as he took on Roderick Strong in the same kind of match back at NXT Great American Bash in July. Grimes is a much different competitor, but the theme of fear instilled by Lumis remains, and it will likely lead Lumis to victory just like he did against Strong.

NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Kushida

In recent weeks, and especially since his defeat of Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver 31, Kushida has taken on a much more aggressive style and it’s carried him to victory quite frequently. This week in his defeat of Timothy Thatcher, Kushida had a special observer in the form of Tommaso Ciampa.

We saw these two clash just after NXT TakeOver 31, but the match ended in a disqualification. Now the stage seems set for a rematch at NXT TakeOver WarGames to settle the score between two of NXT’s best, and what better stakes than a future shot at NXT Champion Finn Balor?
