By Amit Shukla
Every person has a specific thing that they do before an important event and WWE superstars are not away from it because they do it too.
Wrestling is a business that requires people to work round the clock in front of the fans. The situation changed in 2020, but that doesn’t take away the fact that the superstars that perform in front of you like to do unusual things to relieve stress. A lot of superstars have worked through companies and schedules that take a toll on them. In such a scenario, the superstars need to do something that eases them off, and while some like to indulge in games, some others indulge in doing various other actions that make them feel better.
Today, we take a look at some superstars that do unusual things to take away the pressure of the workload off them.
Rey Mysterio
The Luchador is known for his high-flying moves between and beyond the ropes, but what the WWE Universe doesn’t know is that the master of the 619 prays before his matches. Rey Mysterio prays before his in-ring time and also touches the forehead of the kids. He talks to them about the support he needs from them to win.
Goldberg
Goldberg is the number one contender to the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, and while we are not sure of the outcome of the match, we are sure of his pre-match ritual. The iconic superstar would hit his head through a wall, or gate to help prepare his segment. The former Universal Champion is so involved in his ritual that he even busted his head open before being on TV recently. The same was evident during his promo segment against Drew McIntyre on Raw Legends Night.
John Cena
The Cenation Leader has had a successful career in the wrestling business. Over the years, the 16-time World Champion has changed his pre-match rituals, but the one he continues to date is a knock on the wood before heading to the ring.
Cesaro
The Swiss Cyborg is one of the most underrated superstars in the wrestling business. He has the skills which make him worthy of all the accolades in the company. Despite that, he is in the mid-card position, but the Swiss Superman doesn’t let those thoughts bother him because he focuses on ways that calm his nerves and mind. The former tag team champion does handstand push-ups and stays in that position for a long duration to ensure that he is focused when he steps through the curtain and into the ropes.
Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley
The former Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley in AEW) is known to have faced and felt the pre-match pressure too, and while it may look like he doesn’t feel the pressure, the former WWE United States Champion does feel it. In an attempt to, calm his nerves, Moxley makes jokes to calm his nerves and even laughs at jokes that didn’t have a funny tone. He laughs out loud to make sure that he is feeling better before he comes on television.
