Will Bray Wyatt debut a new character after the Fiend was set on fire?
By Amit Shukla
Bray Wyatt’s latest character, The Fiend, burnt on television after Randy Orton defeated the former in a Firefly Inferno match at WWE TLC. It received mixed-to-dismal reviews, as the fans didn’t like the ending, but this has started a series of events involving Alexa Bliss where Little Miss Bliss threw a fireball at Randy Orton during the closing moments of the Jan. 11 Raw.
A storyline that could have ended at WWE TLC is still ongoing. It seems like WWE is planning to bring back The Fiend, but we would have to wait and watch for the way he is brought back on TV. Bray Wyatt has been off the television and social media since TLC, and with the Royal Rumble on the horizon, one would have to see if The Fiend returns from the dead to confront Randy Orton.
Will this be a Nexus of Bray Wyatt’s characters in the WWE?
Bray Wyatt has changed his gimmicks numerous times over the years. He debuted in the WWE as Nexus’ Husky Harris in 2010 and switched it to Bray Wyatt several years later before becoming The Fiend in 2019.
WWE is known for character revamps; we have seen characters change over the years, so it wouldn’t be unreal if The Fiend returns with a new style and a different approach than his previous iterations. Vince McMahon is always up for a change, especially something that can help him earn good money like the persona shown during Firefly Funhouse segments.
While we all want a new character to appear, the big question remains about the look and how it will impact the on-going storyline. Randy Orton has a new mask to cover the burn from the fireball segment with Alexa Bliss, and the former Raw Women’s Champion has shown a new side over the weeks since aligning with The Fiend.
If The Fiend shows up in a new way, will it evolve from the previous character? Will it help Bray Wyatt cement his legacy as one of the best minds in the business? Will The Fiend return at the Royal Rumble or the go-home episode to Royal Rumble to surprise the fans or will we have to wait until this year’s WrestleMania for the new character to appear in front of the members of the WWE Universe?
The answer is closer than we think.
