The athlete formerly known as Aleister Black/Tommy End made his debut at AEW Dynamite on Wednesday going by the name Malakai Black.

Earlier in the night, the lights in the arena went out and it was played off as a technical glitch. However, during a promo with Arn Anderson, the lights went out again and Black appeared. He landed the Black Mass on both Anderson and Cody Rhodes who attempted to make the save.

Black is one of the biggest free agents in the professional wrestling industry after being released by the WWE earlier in 2021. Black was last seen on WWE television back in October of 2020 where he was defeated by Kevin Owens to bring about an end to the feud between the two men. He was then kept off television for an extended period.

However, things with WWE became even more tenuous when his wife, known as Zelina Vega, was released from the organization because of the WWE’s new policy on third-party vendors.

Vega returned to the WWE on WWE SmackDown last week, creating speculation about where Black would appear. That question was answered with this appearance on Wednesday. The crowd gave Black a massive response as the show cut too commercial.

Ironically, Black appeared in the segment that followed the AEW in-ring debut of Andrade, a man that Black feuded with for the NXT Championship before being called up to the main roster.
