Daniel Bryan Reportedly Signs Deal With AEW
As per Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Daniel Bryan has reportedly signed for All Elite Wrestling with his debut already pencilled in.
Haynes confirmed, from one of his sources at AEW, that Bryan “is locked in and has 100% already signed a contract.” The report was then picked up by leading wrestling journalists Alex McCarthy at TalkSport and Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful.
Speculation is already rife that the date pencilled in for Daniel Bryan’s debut as plans have changed according to Haynes’s reporting.
Daniel Bryan made his last appearance for WWE, losing in a Loser Leaves WWE, WWE Championship match against Roman Reigns, in which he lost. It was speculated that Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract had expired following this match and that WWE was pushing hard to agree on new terms with him. It is thought Bryan is looking for a flexible contract, where he can also work around the world.
Another top WWE star going to AEW?
First, we saw that CM Punk was in talks about a return to pro-wrestling. Now we’re seeing Daniel Bryan is reportedly signed with AEW. What a crazy couple of days.
It sure shows the pull of AEW, attracting a talented wrestler of Bryan’s calibre to their roster. That being said, the flexible dates, fewer shows and options to work elsewhere would be sure hard to turn down.
All eyes will certainly be on All Out in September to see who shows up, especially with Bryan and CM Punk now potentially in the mix.
