Thunder Rosa signs with All Elite Wrestling
All Elite Wrestling made it official when they announced that Thunder Rosa has joined the roster. Rosa, who is recognized as one of the top women in the industry today, was revealed via social media to be an official member of the AEW team, an announcement that came on her birthday.
“Welcome to the team, Thunder Rosa is All Elite.” This was the message that the AEW Twitter handle released on Thursday. Rosa responded in kind with a message that speaks to her work ethic.
“Never in my life doubt that I would be where I want to be!” She posted on Twitter. “Today one of the biggest accomplishments in my career has been announced! #lameramera Is FINALLY WHERE SHE BELONGS.”
To say that Rosa has been on a tear these last few years would be an understatement. The former NWA World Women’s Champion has competed in multiple promotions back-to-back, including AEW, NWA, Mission Pro, and Warrior Wrestling – all while the COVID-19 global pandemic nearly halted professional wrestling. At IMPACT Slammiversary she made a surprise appearance to take on Deanna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Title, losing the match.
Rosa’s unsanctioned match with Britt Baker back in March was one of the most important moments in women’s wrestling in recent years. She has not been featured prominently on AEW Dynamite much, but her arrival on this week’s edition of AEW Dark shows that fans are excited every time they get to see her. Expect Thunder Rosa to be near the top of the PWI women’s rankings when the year ends.
