Naomi would be the perfect addition to the Bloodline
Roman Reigns and the Bloodline has been one of the most dominant and consistent stories in WWE for more than a year, now. It’s time to up the ante by bringing SmackDown’s new addition to their roster of women, Naomi, into the mix.
Quite out of the blue, Naomi suddenly made a recent transition to SmackDown. Given her obvious connection to the Bloodline, it only makes sense to make her part of it. And doing so would finally put this talented competitor to good use.
Naomi joins the WWE
In one form or another, Naomi has been part of the WWE since 2009. She was actually the inaugural FCW Divas Champion which she won by defeating the legendary Serena Deeb. Then, her career took her to NXT.
She actually competed in the first season of NXT to feature female competitors. Naomi ultimately came in second to Kaitlyn, though she still had a great run. After losing the FCW Divas Championship to AJ Lee, she moved to the main roster.
Naomi and Cameron arrived together as The Funkadactyls, the backup dancers for the newly repackaged Brodus Clay. From there, she moved on to work with Sasha Banks and Tamina as part of Team B.A.D. which certainly helped her profile.
On February 12, 2017, Naomi won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber. She dropped it almost immediately due to injury but defeated Alexa Bliss to win it again the same year at WrestleMania 33 in her hometown of Orlando, Florida.
WWE misuses Naomi
Over the years, Naomi has put in the work and become one of WWE’s most bankable female stars. And it’s safe to say that she has a lot of fans in the stands. Despite all of that, she has found it difficult to maintain a consistent presence over the past few years.
At one point, Naomi was placed in a tag team with Asuka. Despite the fact that they have extremely different in-ring styles, the duo actually meshed quite well. But the team was suddenly broken up so Asuka could continue her singles career.
After a long period of little to no direction, Naomi was then placed in a tag team with Lana, one of her real-life friends. WWE didn’t know what to do with either of them, but the duo made their tag team work. Then, WWE released Lana and left her in flux yet again.
Naturally, injuries haven’t helped her momentum at all. But very few WWE superstars haven’t had to deal with that. WWE just doesn’t seem to know what they want to do with Naomi but aligning her with the Bloodline is exactly what she needs.
Naomi and the Bloodline
Currently, the Roman Reigns-led faction consists of his real-life cousins Jimmy and Jey Uso as well as Paul Heyman as their special counsel. She might not be blood but she is married to Jimmy Uso, which creates a natural connection that fans would love to see play into the storyline.
Naomi’s first night back on SmackDown was met with apathy and disinterest on the part of Sonya Deville. This is likely the setup for some kind of heel turn, which would represent the first real change in her gimmick since she became “The Glow” in 2016.
This is a natural next step for both Naomi and the Bloodline. If she joined the faction and became the SmackDown Women’s Champion, that would only add more power to the storyline. Plus, it’s time that she held gold again and the Bloodline would help get her there.
The Bloodline is firing on all cylinders these days. But Naomi is a natural fit for the faction and would certainly add a new, positive element to it. She is too talented a wrestler to sit on the sidelines and not be receive bigger opportunities in WWE.
