Ronda Rousey took to social media to announce the birth of her child alongside her husband, Travis Browne.

Via Instagram, Rousey posted a picture with the child’s name ““La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne,” which pays homage to Brown’s roots from Hawaii.

Rousey has not been a part of the professional wrestling world since being defeated by Becky Lynch in the triple threat main event of WrestleMania in 2019. During her time, she went on a run within the WWE that was a pivotal point in the Women’s Evolution within the WWE. Her run as champion lasted 231 days, where she defended the belt against the likes of Ruby Soho, Sasha Banks, and Mickie James.

Rousey is still a vocal supporter of women’s wrestling, recently taking to social media to praise the NWA’s Empowerrr event which took place in August 2020.

Rousey is best known for her run in the UFC, where she was the first woman to take part in a fight in the Octagon when she defended her title against Liz Carmouche in 2013. This came after UFC President Dana White spent years against the idea of women fighting in the UFC. She would defend that title six times before losing it to Holly Holm at UFC 193.
