WWE SmackDown results following the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia. It will be the first night that the WWE 2021 Draft will come into effect. WWE.com has announced that Brock Lesnar will be looking to “beat Roman Reigns senseless” following the controversial Universal Title match. Xavier Woods will celebrate becoming King of the Ring. WWE is also teasing that Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch may trade Women’s Titles.

WWE SmackDown results October 22 2021 live from Wichita, Kansas

The show begins with a recap of the Crown Jewel main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title.

We cross live to the arena in Wichita, and Universal Champion Roman Reigns heads to the ring with Paul Heyman. Reigns starts off his promo wanting Paul Heyman to hand him the Universal Championship. He does, and Roman proceeds to discuss how he’s on top of WWE and has been for a long time now.

Reigns wants Heyman to read out Brock Lesnar’s tweet via WWE’s account about Lesnar wanting to “beat him senseless”. Roman then decides to call out Brock. We even get a “we want Lesnar” chant. Brock’s music eventually hits just as Reigns was about to leave the ring. Lesnar heads into the ring and he brawls with Reigns.

The fight goes outside of the ring where Lesnar hits Roman with the steel steps, then attempts to put Roman through the announce table with an F5, but The Uso’s come out to attack him. Brock fends them off and continues his assault on the Universal Champion. He even grabs a camera from the cameraman to strike Reigns but misses.

Brock then assaults almost everyone at ringside. Adam Pearce sends out some members of the SmackDown roster to break up the fight. Reigns managed to escape and Brock holds up the Universal Title in the middle of the ring. Great opening segment.

WWE Official Adam Pearce remains in the ring and says Brock Lesnar’s actions were unacceptable and irresponsible. He says Lesnar endangered everyone involved and it cannot happen on his watch. Pearce then announces that due to his actions tonight he is indefinitely suspending Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar then slowly walks back out to the ring as Pearce now looks fearful. Fans chants “Suplex City” as Lesnar hits the ring and grabs Adam Pearce by his shirt. Lesnar asks him to repeat himself and Peace reiterates he’s indefinitely suspended.

Brock lets go of him and smartens Peace up before delivering an F5 as the WWE Universe go wild for it. His music hits but Brock decides to give him another F5 which also rips Pearce’s pants! Lesnar then grabs the mic and says “I can’t hear you, tell me again please” before leaving the ring.

Backstage, Sonya Deville is on the phone in amongst the chaos and refuses an interview with Kayla Braxton. Naomi then approaches her and says she wants a fair match with her tonight. Sonya says she has other things to handle tonight and tells Naomi to get out of her face. Sonya turns around and Drew McIntyre introduces himself. Drew says he’s going to the ring to issue an open challenge.

Sami Zayn accepts the challenge and says he’s the best and the master strategist as he walks down to the ring.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn

McIntyre dominates the majority of the match and delivers a Claymore out-of-nowhere to finish off Sami Zayn when Zayn was mocking him. Drew makes a solid statement and could essentially be SmackDown‘s top babyface star in the near future.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

A video package is shown to say that Hit Row will debut tonight. The ring is then shown being set up for Xavier Woods’ Coronation following his King of the Ring victory last night.

New Day friend Kofi Kingston makes his way to the ring first to introduce the Coronation and King Xavier Woods. Kofi then drapes Xavier Woods shoulders with a cloak. The fans chant “you deserve it!” Kofi then presents him with the rest of his King’s props, including the crown. Kofi then reads out the King’s script and Xavier Woods is officially now coronated.

Backstage, Becky Lynch looks into the camera and says instead of a title exchange tonight with Charlotte Flair, she suggests a comeback for ‘Becky 2 Belts’.

A promo is shown of Xia Li coming soon to SmackDown.

Mansoor vs. Mustafa Ali

Mansoor outwits Mustafa Ali and rolls him up for the win. That’s Mansoor’s second victory over Ali in the space of 24-hours. The first being Saudi Arabia and the second in Wichita. Let’s hope we see more Mansoor moving forward; he’s very likeable.

Winner: Mansoor

Backstage, we see separate promos from Ridge Holland, Aliyah, Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza and Sheamus discussing their motives on SmackDown moving forward.

Hit Row comes to the stage, rap, and cut a promo as they make their way to the ring. “Because if you didn’t know. Now you know.” They make their in-ring SmackDown debut next.

Hit Row (Isiah “Swerve” Scott & Top Dolla)  w/ B-Fab & Ashante Thee Adonis vs. Damien Lawyer and Daniel Williams

They debut against two local Wichita wrestlers in a squash match to introduce them properly to the WWE Universe. Really interesting to see where they go with this group.

Winner: Hit Row

Backstage, Kayla Braxton talks with Sonya Deville outside the medical room as Adam Pearce is still being attended to. Sonya has been put in sole charge of the show.

Intercontinental Champion King Nakamura w/ Rick Boogs vs. Happy Corbin w/ Madcap Moss – Championship Contender’s Match

A not so fresh match up here considering we’ve now got a fresh roster on SmackDown. Rick Boogs played his electric guitar late in the match as Madcap Moss tried to stop him outside of the ring. Nakamura tried to help but it ultimately allowed Happy Corbin to take advantage and pick up the win. Smiles and laughs all around.

Winner: Happy Corbin

Backstage, Charlotte encourages Becky Lynch to hand over the title. They’re up next for the apparent title exchange.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is out first. Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is out next. Charlotte is officially on the SmackDown roster, Becky is officially on Raw. Something has got to give here.

Sonya Deville mediates and says they will now swap titles and continue on their respective brand. They slowly swap the titles. A really uncreative way to sort this title situation out. Charlotte then suggests a Winner Takes All match tonight.

Sasha Banks then makes her way out to the ring and says SmackDown is her brand. Becky says she’s leaving to go to Raw and she will see one of them at Survivor Series and leaves Charlotte and Sasha in the ring. Banks and Charlotte end up brawling in the ring and then on the outside. Sonya Deville tries to separate them both. The two ladies taunt each other as the show ends.
