AEW President, Tony Khan, has confirmed that Jon Moxley will enter an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

Khan noted that the former AEW World Champion allowed him to share the private news with the rest of the wrestling world.

Moxley was due to face Orange Cassidy in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament to determine who would face Bryan Danielson at Full Gear on November 13. It currently remains unknown how the rest of this tournament will now pan out.

Tony Khan tweeted in regards to the news “Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can. I’m proud to call Jon a friend, and like many of you, I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring.”

There has been an outpouring show of love for Jon Moxley for taking these brave steps in his life to combat his issues with alcohol.

Jon Moxley on the road to recovery

Jon Moxley has taken brave steps to resolve some of his personal demons. Right now, he is an inspiration to many for publicly allowing Tony Khan to share the news and show many who may also be in position that help is out there. After all, our mental and physical health is the most important thing we have. Without it, we have nothing. As it stands, there is no timescale on how long Jon’s recovery will take, but we can be rest assured that Moxley is now in the right hands and getting the help he requires.
